Behavioral Health Services for Children Adopted from or Currently in Foster Care
Jacob's Law (HB2442), passed in Arizona in March 2016, aims to improve access to behavioral health services for children in foster and adoptive care. This legislation establishes important timelines to ensure that these children receive the support they need promptly.

To request an evaluation, call a behavioral health agency to make an appointment.
Evaluation timeframe is for any requests of services whether child is new to the agency or already enrolled.
Services identified at evaluation must start within 21 days.
How to secure your own provider when services are not initiated within 21 days after evaluation.
